The Peruvian Army was defeated in San Juan de Miraflores, January, 1881; nevertheless the battles in the Andes went on between the Peruvians and Chileans. A portion of the Chilean Army was in the vicinity and within the city of Concepcion, for about six months, the battle, and clashes between both armies were on July 9 and the 10, 1882: the city of Comas joined in with the guerrillas of San Jeronimo, and other nearby cities to fight the Chileans. On July 10, more Peruvians reinforcements arrived, and this lead to the defeat of the Chileans, leaving no survivors....
