PRODUCT to Sell

To make money online, you will need to sell something, it can be a physical product, your services or information. Personally, I prefer selling services and information (in a form of eBook). They have the lowest costs and highest profitability as you will avoid high production costs, inventory cost and even delivery costs.

I. INFORMATION PRODUCTS

Information can be in the simplest form as your company profile, products and services that your company offer and even your expert knowledge in your field. These will then trigger potential clients to contact from seeing your website.

Information is what majority of web servers are searching for. After all, this what internet is for, spreading and sharing information. So use them to your advantage.

There are two ways to sell information:

1. If you have expert knowledge in your field that you want to share, you may want write an eBook and sell the book online. Don’t feel that your ebook will never sell, just look at this marketplace.

2. Another easier way of making money from sharing information is simply by setting up a website or a blog and sell advertisements in your website. This can now be done easily with automatic serving advertisements from Google Adsense. Rob Benwell wrote a very good book on Making Money from Blogging

II. PHYSICAL PRODUCTS

Having said that, physical products are also in demand, just look at the business model of Amazon and eBay. Millions of visitors frequent those sites and billions have exchanged hands. Rare products are even better. You can read more about how to make money from selling in eBay.

You can even get products at wholesale prices over the internet and resell it. Some companies known as Dropshippers will even deliver it for you to your clients without you having to carry out the pakaging and delivery tasks.

So, how do we know whether our product is in demand, whether it will sell? Personally, I have to say that Internet has to be the best place to do Market Research. It is Free and updated and there are a lot of ways that you can do it.

MARKET RESEARCH ON PRODUCT CREATION

First of all, look for an idea. This could be from looking at the current trend in the marketplace, listen to the radio, topics on the TV, magazines etc. You can also go to the search engines and see what people are searching about. I purchased a keyword research tool that you can use or such purposes. It’s FREE for you to use which uses Overture Yahoo databases at www.bobmarketing.com/keyword . Simply type in the keywords to find out how many people are searching for that particular keyword in a given month. I would suggest you bokmark that site. You will be spending A LOT of time with it! Other more advanced keyword research tools are also available. Word Tracker and Keyword Elite are the best ones on the market, if you are serious in your online business.

Alternatively, you can go to Google and type the keyword and see how many people are addvertising those products in Google. Or check out the Top Selling Products at eBay and at Amazon Top Sellers From there you should have a clear idea of what people are looking for and how many people are selling it.

Once you decide on the product, you can either choose to hire someone to develop it for you or you may want to produce it yourself. You can even learn how to write an eBOOK in 7 days. One place that I have found particularly useful in developing information product is at eLance, a place where people are waiting to write information products.

If you already have products that you sell in your offline companies, you may just use those products. But it is essential you do your market research to see the demand of your product over the internet.

You can sell your product online by using a shopping cart or simply provide information about your products and services and allow your potential customers to contact and place an order. We will discuss these in Website.
